MPs call for direct cash payments to Norwegian households
Four MPs—Lars Haltbrekken, Marthe Hammer, Anne Lise Gjerstad Fredlund, and Marian Hussein—have proposed establishing systems to deliver cash payments to Norwegian households. The proposers argue that such schemes are necessary to strengthen crisis preparedness in the event of energy or food shortages, and that they offer better distributional and environmental benefits than other forms of support.
