MPs urge government to launch seabed mineral licensing round
Five MPs from the Conservative Party and Progress Party have introduced a proposal to resume work on extracting seabed minerals from the Norwegian continental shelf. The proposers argue that Norway holds substantial reserves of critical minerals that are strategically important for supply security, defence, and allied nations, and that a broad political agreement from 2024 has been weakened by budget negotiations.
