Storting asked to address calculation method for forest and land use climate targets
MPs Siv Sætran, Ole Herman Sveian and Geir Pollestad have introduced a proposal calling on the government to present a separate case to the Storting on how to calculate additional emissions and removals from the forest and land use sector. The proposers argue that this methodology was never clarified before the Storting adopted new climate targets for 2035, and that the choice of method will significantly affect climate policy, business activity and other societal goals.
