Proposal for psychiatric ambulance service in eastern Norway
Four MPs are calling for a psychiatric ambulance service to be established in Oslo and Akershus. The proposers argue that people in psychiatric crisis are currently often picked up by police, which they find stigmatizing, and that the Berg model operating since 2005 has shown that health personnel can handle such situations more effectively than police.
