About this bill
Energy Committee considers fuel emergency stockpiling proposal
The Standing Committee on Energy and Environment is considering a private member's bill from Geir Pollestad and Trygve Slagsvold Vedum calling for increased emergency storage of diesel and aviation fuel. The proposers ask the government to establish better storage capacity that ensures supply security for 90 days, in line with Sweden and Finland. The committee recommends that the government propose increased ambitions for storage capacity, including an assessment of options for 61 and 90 days of supply, and considers measures to secure diesel and aviation fuel production in Norway.
