Energy and Environment Committee rejects environmental crime proposal
MPs Frøya Skjold Sjursæther and Oda Indgaard introduced a private member's bill to strengthen efforts against serious environmental crime. The proposal asks the government to return with measures to bolster criminal prosecution, increase inspection and investigation capacity, and expand the use of custodial sentences. The Standing Committee on Energy and Environment recommends that the Storting reject the proposal.
