Committee recommends rejecting Sámi culture and business protection proposal
Four MPs—Sofie Marhaug, Hanne Beate Stenvaag, Geir Jørgensen, and Hege Bae Nyholt—introduced a bill to strengthen protection of Sámi cultural and business practices. The Standing Committee on Local Government and Public Administration, made up of members from the Labour Party, Progress Party, Conservative Party, and Centre Party, recommended that the Storting reject it. MPs from the Socialist Left Party, Red Party, and Green Party put forward alternative proposals.
