Clarifying means-testing rules for supplementary allowance
The Standing Committee on Labour and Social Affairs is reviewing a proposal to clarify legislation on supplementary allowance for people with short-term residence in Norway. The proposal would make clear that income and assets limits are conditions that must be met throughout the entire benefit period, not just at the time of application. The committee recommends the Storting adopt the changes, but the Progress Party has submitted a minority proposal to phase out the scheme.
