Energy Committee divided on electricity support for student housing
The Standing Committee on Energy and the Environment is considering a private member's bill from Sunniva Holmås Eidsvoll and Lars Haltbrekken to ensure student housing with shared metering gains access to Norway's price. The committee is split: the majority (Labour Party, Socialist Left Party, Centre Party, Red Party, and Green Party) asks the government to study compensation options before the revised national budget for 2026, while the minority from other parties submit separate proposals for either direct access to Norway's price or an evaluation of the scheme.
