Committee rejects proposal to scrap Bufdir gender diversity guidance
MPs Kjerstin Lianes Kjøndal and Joel Ystebø have introduced a proposal to abandon Bufdir's guide titled "Advice on Meeting Gender Diversity for Public Employees." A majority in the Standing Committee on Family and Culture—comprising the Labour Party, Conservative Party, Socialist Left Party, and Green Party—recommends rejecting the proposal, arguing that the guide serves as a legitimate professional resource for public sector workers. The minority, the Progress Party and Christian Democratic Party, contend the advice raises problems regarding parental rights, teachers' professional responsibility, and women's rights.
