Committee rejects study of Norwegian EU membership
MPs Guri Melby, Abid Raja, and Grunde Almeland proposed that the government investigate Norwegian EU membership. The Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs and Defence agrees that knowledge and open debate about Norway's relationship with Europe matters for democracy, but the committee majority recommends against adopting the proposal. The minority from the Conservative Party, Green Party, and Liberal Party put forward alternative proposals to strengthen security and defence cooperation with the EU.
