Military to operate Tromsø rescue helicopter base, two new helicopters to be purchased
The Standing Committee on Justice recommends that the military take over operation of the rescue helicopter base in Tromsø and that the state purchase two new rescue helicopters. A majority of the committee (Labour Party, Conservative Party, Centre Party, Green Party, and Christian Democratic Party) argues that military operation will reduce costs and improve emergency preparedness, while the Progress Party contends that four helicopters should be bought instead of two.
