Storting calls on government to replace Chinese drone system at airports
MPs Ine Eriksen Søreide, Peter Frølich, Trond Helleland, Anne Kristine Linnestad, Erlend Larsen, and Mahmoud Farahmand proposed measures to strengthen Norway's capacity to detect unauthorized drone flights. The committee recommends two proposals: drawing up an inventory of technology from authoritarian states used on critical infrastructure in Norway, and requiring Avinor to replace its DJI Aeroscope system with equivalent systems from countries in Norway's security partnerships. Two additional proposals from a minority of MPs from the Conservative Party, Centre Party, and Green Party call for strengthening the PST and considering the establishment of a national drone detection centre.
