Education Committee examines proposal to strengthen students' core skills
MPs Guri Melby, Abid Raja, and Grunde Almeland introduced a private member's bill calling for ten measures to boost students' core literacy, numeracy, and oral skills. The proposals include an action plan for core skills development, stronger national centres, revival of a teacher specialist programme, and a review of how schools purchase teaching materials. The Standing Committee on Education was divided, with members from different parties supporting, partially supporting, or opposing the proposals.
