Insurance guarantee scheme extended to cross-border operators

The Standing Committee on Finance and Economic Affairs proposes expanding the insurance guarantee scheme to cover claims arising from insolvency of insurers operating on a cross-border basis in Norway. The committee majority argues the expansion ensures equal treatment of claimants regardless of where they purchased their insurance. Members from the Socialist Left Party and Red Party have submitted a minority proposal to expand the occupational injury insurance association's coverage instead.
