Foreign Affairs Committee reviews 2024 defence equipment export report
The Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs and Defence has reviewed Norway's annual report on defence equipment exports in 2024. Norwegian companies exported defence materials worth approximately 16.2 billion kroner last year, a 36 percent increase from 2023. Ninety-six percent of weapons and ammunition exports went to NATO countries and other European nations, with the United States as the largest recipient. The committee presents recommendations and several minority proposals addressing stricter oversight of re-exports, evaluation of export controls, and environmental considerations in export policy.
