Committee reviews Data Protection Authority and Privacy Board annual reports
The Standing Committee on Municipal and General Administration is examining the 2024 annual reports from the Data Protection Authority and the Privacy Board, submitted by the Ministry of Digitalisation and Public Administration. The committee notes that the Data Protection Authority's caseload has grown since 2018 and cases have become more complex, and supports the ministry's attention to resource constraints. Members from the Socialist Left Party, Red Party, and Green Party have proposed that the Data Protection Authority's right to bring legal proceedings against Privacy Board decisions on matters of principle be investigated.
